Pray.Hope.Dream.

Why "Pray.Hope.Dream."?

As I was walking across campus one day, I realized that this was about much more than a degree for me. I realized that I was literally living my dreams. God showed me several years ago that I would get a PhD, and I really didn't believe Him. But in that moment, walking across campus, I felt that I was exactly where He wanted me to be. I started to laugh. I realized that this journey, this graduate school experience, was the result of my Prayers, Hopes, and Dreams. I understood also that the only way I would be successful, would be to continue to Pray, Hope, and Dream. Therefore, when I complete this degree and my name is followed by a comma and three letters, to others they might refer to a Doctor of Philosophy...but to me they will be a testament to the power of Praying, Hoping, and Dreaming, and a reminder to myself and others to always
Pray.Hope.Dream.

Anticipation

It is the summer before I officially begin one of the greatest challenges and most interesting journey's of my life. I don't believe that I am speaking in hyperbole; I am sure that the next 5 to 7 years will be filled with growth, discovery, introspection and maturation...and a dissertation to boot. Here I sit as a 22 year old filled with anticipation of my life to come, but also a tad bit of trepidation. I am confident that I am living the life God has called me to, but still a little uncertain as to why.
I am on my way to a PhD.
This I know for sure.

For some people, a PhD might just be another logical step in the progression of Higher Education. In some ways, it is that for me as well. Yet, it is so much more. For me, it is my testimony of God's grace, love, mercy, and will for my life. I plan to use this blog to document my journey, the lessons I learn along the way, and the growth I am certain to experience. Perhaps it will be helpful to someone else who decides to take this road. Regardless, I know it will be helpful to me.

Thanks for coming along :)
